Radish health benefits

Radishes are a root crop that can be juicy, pungent, or sweet in taste. They also come in a variety of colours. Radishes may be eaten raw, cooked or pickled. The oil obtained from the seeds of radish is used in a number of beneficial health applications.

Red radishes are packed with Vitamins E, A, C, B6, and K. Plus it's high on antioxidants, fibre, zinc, potassium, phosphorous, magnesium, copper, calcium, iron and manganese. A stronger immune system, weight loss and better digestion are just a few of the many health benefits of radishes.

In a 2014 study, red radish showed a significant reduction in the systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure. This is due to the radish promoting nitric oxide production.
