One leg exercise ball squat

Using the exercise ball makes this variation of the Bulgarian squat very different. A Bulgarian squat is usually performed with one leg on a fixed bench. It also has some similarities to a “pistol squat” where you squat down on one leg (up and down without any support). The pistol squat is very hard for most people.

  1. Stand about 2 feet in front of a exercise ball.
  2. Place your right leg on top of the ball behind you, with your toe pointed down.
  3. Bend your left knee and squat making sure your knee stays behind your toe (use your arms for balance is required)

Few exercises work as many muscles as the squat. It’s an excellent exercise useful for toning and tightening your buttocks, abs and of course your legs. The exercise ball adds in a stability difficulty, which makes it an excellent variation to the squat.
